| As part of his job as a roving scientific investigator for the government, Professor Hood (Patrick Stewart) has long been on the trail of a sinister Italian scientist, who is attempting to be the first person to bring a cloned baby into the world. Hood is alerted to the grim discovery of a field filled with the bodies of foetuses all of whom share the same DNA. He thinks it is the work of the mysterious Gepetto (Jane Lapotaire). Assisted by his Special Branch bodyguard, Rachel Young (Ashley Jensen), Professor Hood sets out to try and bring an end to Gepetto's grisly work. When evidence emerges that another young and desperate surrogate mother has been misled. Her life is at risk and Hood embarks on a urgent mission to save her.
